    Description

This is a vintage wall plaque of The Last Supper recently salvaged from a Catholic church rectory in Litchfield County, Connecticut. This striking wall plaque is perhaps a Syroco product or made by a manufacturer of similar products. It appears to be wood pulp/fiber and is a deep reddish-brown in color. Raised figures of apostles and Jesus Christ are quite striking; a beautifully detailed mold was used for this piece. Even the details around the frame area edges are quite lovely.  Measures 11" x 5 1/3" and has no maker name or mark. Has a couple of tiny holes in top frame area where it was attached to rectory wall. Frame has only very minor wear in a couple of spots and carved figures are in excellent condition; no chips, cracks, or missing parts. Quite old and quite heavy. A very striking wall plaque. Thanks for looking.
